Day Five Race Seven

Guinness Race 2010 - Day Five Race Seven

This fantastic Friday Evening of racing draws to a close with the Guinness Race over 1m 6f at Galway, it gives the fans and punters an excellent way to finish the evening with the bookmakers hoping to come out victorious.

Johnny Murtagh will be on board the impressive looking Salute Him and he looks to have a great chance of going well, the same can be said of Pop Rock who will have Fran Berry on board.

2009 Result

Galway Hurdle hero Bahrain Storm was the toast of Galway tonight after winning this Guinnes Race over a mile and six furlongs in supreme style. It was a fantastic training performance by Paul Flynn who has been a real star of the festival and also for jockey, gary Carroll who has now ridden three winners. Hot favourite was the Dermot Weld trained Universal Truth but he ran poorly to underline a dismal evening for Galway's top trainer. Second home was the unfancied Bashkirov and third was De Valira

  • 1st Bahrain Storm, P Flynn, G Carroll, 3/1
  • 2nd Bashkirov, L Comer, RP Walsh, 20/1
  • 3rd De Valira, J Morrisey, D McDonogh, 14/1
