Day Four Race Five

Signature Novice Hurdle Odds - Day Four Race Five 2010

This Novice Hurdle race takes its place 5th on the Day Four card at Galway and if last year is anything to go by we could be in for a high class race in 2010, the 2009 race was fought out between Ruby Walsh and AP McCoy on good horses and we would settle for a repeat of that.

2009 Result

As anticipated this race came down to the two favourites in the race and a direct dual between the best two jockeys around, Tony McCoy on Glenstal Abbey and Ruby Walsh on Dual Gales. For many it proved to be the best race of the week with them both coming to the last together after tracking the leader Capall Eile from the start. In the event it was Ruby Walsh who won the day having just a little more pace on the run in and giving trainer, Willie Mullins another Festival winner.

  • 1st Dual Gales, W Mullins, R Walsh, 11/4
  • 2nd Glenstal Abbey, C Swan, T McCoy, Evens Fav
  • 3rd Carsonstown Boy, C McBratney, A McNamara, 9/1
