The first race on the card for day Four at Galway is this excellent looking Steeplechese over 2 mile 6f in what could be a stamina test for the runners here. It was a classic race in 2009 with a win for Whatever Next and punters and fans will be hoping for similar excitement in 2010. Prince Erik will go for Dermot Weld in this one as he looks to continue his fantastic week, also expoected to go off well backed is Chicgao Grey for Gordon Elliott.

2009 Result

A somewhat extraordinary race saw WHATEVER NEXT hold on grimly to take the honours in this opener on Day One. Ridden strongly by Davy Russell the winner held on at the end after being prominenet throughout. Second was the fast finishing favourite, CORRICK BRIDGE who at two out seemed well out of the race after two dreadful mistakes. Third was Maucaillou who just ran out of gas up the run in.
