The Harry Rogers trained FIT THE COVE showed true grit to hold off hot favourite SEPARATE WAYS by half a length on the run in this Guinness Time Handicap. Rogers who has had a lot of placed horses lately will be well pleased that he has got one in the winners enclosure at last. He was given a great ride by Danny Mullins who clearly loves this Galway track.
The two went clear of the field in the last furlong but it was FIT THE COVE who stayed the better. Third was the well backed PROPINQUITY.
- 1st Fit The Cove, H Rogers, D Mullins, 12/1
- 2nd Separate Ways, D Marnane, C O'Donoghue, 5/2 Fav
- 3rd Propinquity L McAteer, B Curtis, 11/2
