Day Six Race Four

Low Low Handicap 2010 - Day Six Race Four 2010

The low Low Handicap is another race on the Saturday of the 2010 Galway Festival and it is a 7f race for horses aged three years and upwards. We are likely to see a high quality field line up for this one with a packed crowd in at Galway as always for the popular Summer meeting.

2009 Result

Despite playing up at the start odds on favourite Black Quartz did the business at the end due mainly to the briliance of Johnny Murtagh who almsot carried him across the line after a huge battle up the run in with the second horse, Corcovada. Murtagh proved what an outstanding jockey he is both at the start and the finish of the race and trainer Aidan O'Brien should be extra thankful to his lead jockey's effort, as should the punters. Fammi Sognare ran on to be third overtaking the disappointing Jim Bolger horse Eireannach.

  • 1st Black Quartz, A O'Brien, J Murtagh, 4/5 Fav
  • 2nd Corcovada, E Harty, N McCullogh, 10/1
  • 3rd Fammi Sognare, A Mullins, D Mullins 6/1
