Jockeys Association Maiden Hurdle 2010 - Day Six Race One
Saturday is always a popular day at the Galway Festival and 2010 will be no different as we kick off the action with the Jockeys Association Maiden Hurdle over 2 miles. We will no doubt see a good Dermot Weld horse in the field as the trainer with the great record at Galway continues to rack up the winners. There will be plenty of betting action in this one as the punters look to get the day off to a profitable start.
Gentleman Jeff will go off as the favourite here for Dermot weld and Pat Smullen who have been having a great week at Ballybrit so far, he looks to have a great chance and the punters are sure to lump on.

2009 Result
Gratified was sent off red hot favourite to give the formidable partnership of Dermot Weld and Ruby Walsh a winning start on the penultimate day of the Galway festival. However it was not to be as Gratified disappointed once more losing out to a determined finish by the Seamus Fahey trained, First Trim. The two went clear at the last but it was First Trim who proved the stronger and who broke the hearts of many a punter. Drominvir hung on to be third.
- 1st First Trim, S Fahey, S Butler, 16/1
- 2nd Gratified, D Weld, R Walsh, 8/11 fav
- 3rd Drominvir, T Doyle, M Darcy, 25/1
