Latin Quarter Steeplechase 2011 (2m 6f) - Sarteano storms to Latin success

The Dessie Hughes-trained Sarteano reeled in the long time leader Willies Girl to win the Latin Quarter Chase by two lengths. Willies Girl ran admirably out front, but Bryan Cooper edged ever closer turning for home and stormed past late on to win at 9/2

2009 Result

Natal a recent acquisition for the Jim Lambe yard proved his class when winning this tough chase by a couple of lengths from favourite, Tasman. Natal was brilliantly ridden by Denis O’Regan who tracked the leaders from the start it was only rounding the final turn did O’Regan step on the gas pedal to go by Tasman with plenty in hand to get to the line. Paco Jack, who had made a series of errors ran on gamely to be third.
