Freshways Handicap Hurdle

Rank outsider, Island Myth trained by Michael Glynn tracked all the way leader Trimbellina before going past him as they approached the last. He ran strongly up the run and won the days feature race with some comfort for jockey Ian McCarthy.

Trimbellina thoroughly deserved his second place after trying to make all, but punters will be disappointed that race favourite, My Valley failed to make any headway after leading the chasing pack from the start. He had to be content with third place.

  • 1st Island Myth, M Glynn, I McCarthy, 50/1
  • 2nd Trimbellina, D Hughes, R Loughran, 10/1
  • 3rd My Valley, P Fahy, D Russell, 9/2 Fav
