Galway Festival Results 2011 Day 6 - Critic Rocks up for second win of the week
Dermot Weld's Rock Critic bagged his second win of the Galway Festival as he narrowly edged out the David Marnane-trained Jamesie in a thrilling finish in the Ladbrokes 'Bigges Names Best Prices' Handicap.
Weld's sensational form continued in the opening contest as Natural High won the Jockeys Association Maiden Hurdle, but Blue White Fire failed to beat Aidan O'Brien's Vault in the third contest on day six in the Irish Stallions EBF Nursery.
However, it wasn't long before the master of Rosewell was back in the winner's enclosure and after Rock Critic's win he saddled Hit The Jackpot to the win the following race, the Ladbrokes EBF Maiden.
Martin Brassil was victorious in the Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle as Double Seven edged out Now This Is It to give favourite backers another success, whilst the Willie Mullins-trained Pozyc was a clear two-length winner of the penultimate race on the card, the Ladbrokes Poker Handicap.
The Co. Carlow wasn't as successful in the last contest of the day as his short-priced runner Robin Angevin was touched off by Moscow Mannon by a neck in a thrilling finale.
